Inspired by a UK indie band whose music and visuals orbit the same recurring motifs of waves and water. Their dark, spectral sound feels like nostalgic snapshots frozen in time, and their process is just as interesting as the output.

Many of their instrumental sounds are actually warped vocals transformed beyond recognition. I let that idea drive the image-making, turning moody distorted sound into shadowy layered imagery. My favorite is the rippled wave, made by dragging my hair (blue at the time) over a scanner and pixel sorting it.
